Getting away with murder, and payments made by Surrey Police for it’s moral justification

S. Grove made this Freedom of Information request to Surrey Police and Crime Commissioner This request has been closed to new correspondence. Contact us if you think it should be reopened.

The request was successful.

Dear Surrey Police and Crime Commissioner,

How much money in total (e.g. expenses & gratuities) has been paid to Professor Evan Stark (or his employer Rutgers University) in return for Stark’s presentations to the Surrey Police and Crime Commissioner? Stark's 10 March 2016 lecture ‘Understanding Coercive Control’ at Dorking Halls (viewable online) justifies the moral arguments for accepting premeditated murder of one gender/sex by the other (and only one gender/sex by the other) and does NOT report the gendered domestic abuse statistics published in The Center for Disease Control report entitled ‘National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey 2010’ a report that shows that psychological abuse and coercive control is employed by both males AND females?

Yours faithfully,

S. Grove

!PCCPA (Surrey),

Good Morning,

Thank you for your email.

Under the Freedom of Information Act, your request will now be considered and you will receive a response within the statutory timescale of 20 working days as defined by the Act, subject to the information not being exempt or containing a reference to a third party. There may be a fee payable for the retrieval, collation and provision of the information you request. If this is the case you will be informed and the 20 working day timescale will be suspended until we receive payment from you. If you choose not to make a payment then your request will remain unanswered. Some requests may also require either full or partial transference to another public authority in order to answer your query in the fullest possible way. Again, you will be informed if this is the case.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your interest in the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner. If you would you like to contact me regarding your FOI request, please quote reference 2019/09 in your correspondence.

Dear !PCCPA (Surrey),

Given that the "Power and Control wheel" of the Duluth Model (a model that is not based on any accurate statistics on gendered violence or on the health/psychology/psychiatry peer reviewed literature on the causes of abuse) is now used in Surrey Police constable training AND that the introduction of the "Power and Control wheel" into Surrey Police would almost certainly have been a strategic decision based on the use of Stark as a consultant AND that Surrey Police may refuse to respond to DPA 2018 Subject Access Request internal review complaints that could be related to gendered psychological domestic abuse (for example Surrey Police may like to consider that in an extreme example of this psychological abuse an ex-wife or ex-girlfriend would conspire with an abusive mother of the victim and a false police report would be filed) then it is in the public interest to know how much money was spent on a consultant who has helped implement ideologically based training programmes that could lead to harassment of non-binary persons/males and/or lead to miscarriages of justice.

Yours sincerely,

S. Grove
