Dear Sally Smith,

Please find below and attached information in response to your enquiries.

 1. A full up to date Fleet list, including stations based at , Call sign,
and type.

See the attached spreadsheet.

 2. a detailed breakdown for amount of calls for each station, and what
appliances were mobilized. Please may i add to my request by asking
for a detailed breakdown of appliances mobilized for example if a
station had P1 and P2 then ___ times P1 went and ___ times p2 went.
The last 4 years will be good.

See the attached spreadsheet.

 3. Weather any appliances are due to be replaced within the next 3 years
and what they will be replaced with?

The Service appliance replacement strategy requires front line (type B)
appliances to be replaced once they have completed 15 years active service
and specialist appliances to be replaced once they have completed 20 years
active service. The result of this is a rolling replacement cycle with an
expectation that 15 front line appliances will be replaced in the next
three years. The specification for these vehicles is agreed and
procurement of the replacement vehicles is scheduled for delivery within
2019/20.

 4. Finally, are there any plans for a PPE Refresh, and what will be the
spec of the new equipment?

Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) has a plan to refresh Fire Fighter
PPE in the 2019/2020 Financial year. NFRS has a legal obligation to fully
comply with PPE regulations.  NFRS will adopt an appropriate existing
National Collaborative contract offering an ensemble to a specification
that is proven to meet the highest standards of protection and performance
and that complies with all current appropriate legislation and
National/International standards.

Dear Information Management,

Thank you for this. it is just what i was looking for, however, is there a specification for the new appliances? Also, on your fleet list, you list AU05 HJO as being Diss P2, but i have been informed that it went for a service but is not returning and being replaced with a smaller appliance, and it has been away too long for a service. Could you please confirm this? If so, please also let me know what spec these appliances will be.

FInally, will the MSA Gallets be kept with the PPE refresh, and will Cadets be getting a PPE refresh too? if so, is the same as employed Fire crews?

Yours sincerely,

Sally Smith

Dear Information Management,

By law, Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service should have responded promptly to my follow up by 4 April 2019. I note that this has NOT been done - and I will be requesting an Internal investigation if i get no reply to this reminder within 5 working days. I will be attaching a copy of my last request.

" Thank you for this. it is just what i was looking for, however, is there a specification for the new appliances? If so, please also let me know what spec these appliances will be, and who the supplier is.

Dear Sally Smith,

Please now find below responses to your further enquiries. I apologise for
the delay in providing this.

Thank you for this. it is just what i was looking for, however, is there a
specification for the new appliances?

The Service is in the final stages of agreeing the specification for the
replacement of our type B Appliances and this will be published via our
tender portal once agreed. For this reason we rely on exemption under
section 22 of the Freedom of Information Act (future publication). Please
see below for further details regarding the exemption.

Also, on your fleet list, you list AU05 HJO as being Diss P2, but i have
been informed that it went for a service but is not returning and being
replaced with a smaller appliance, and it has been away too long for a
service. Could you please confirm this? If so, please also let me know
what spec these appliances will be.

As stated in our IRMP 2014/17 the second fire engines on all two pump
on-call (retained) fire stations are being replaced with a smaller general
purpose vehicle.  Diss is one of these stations

FInally, will the MSA Gallets be kept with the PPE refresh

No, we will be replacing the current Fire Helmet with a new helmet model.

and will Cadets be getting a PPE refresh too? if so, is the same as
employed Fire crews?

We have a project underway specifically focused on Cadet PPE provision and
are currently considering the options for this.

Exemption

Section 22(1) of the Act provides an exemption for release of information
if it is intended for future publication.

Reason why the exemption applies

As stated above, the Service is in the final stages of agreeing the
specification for the replacement of our type B Appliances and this
information will be published via our tender portal once agreed.

Public Interest Test

The Council has considered whether the public interest in maintaining this
exemption is outweighed by the public interest in disclosure.

This Council has considered the following reasons in favour of disclosure:

o Promoting accountability and transparency by public authorities for
decisions taken by them.
o Promoting accountability and transparency in the spending of public
money.

Balanced against this are the following reasons against disclosure:

o This information is scheduled to be published in the near future
o To release this information now could result in the release of
inaccurate and misleading data.
