Dear Kyle,

FOI ref: 2019/1950

Further to the below emails, we do require clarification from you in order for us to process the request.

Can you please clarify the below:

•Who supplies the Trust's integration system?
Can you please confirm what is meant by the 'Trust Integration system'?

• How often does the Trust evaluate their Clinical Systems?
Please clarify the above and explain the process behind evaluating a clinical system?

• Please provide an organisation chart for the trust’s IM&T department
What does IM&T stand for? Please note that we do not have a department that is called IM&T. We have an ICT service that contains an Information department as well as other ICT functions. Can you please confirm if this is what you mean?

• What proportion of the Trust’s IM&T Department is made up of interim staff and permanent staff?
The term 'interim', does this mean agency or bank staff or fixed term or something else? Please confirm.

•Does the trust outsource their IT services to an external provider, if so please provide details of provider and contract dates
Our ICT service is very large and contains smaller departments within it, can you please clarify the above.

•Is the Trust considering their options of outsourcing their IT Services in the next 3 years?
The above is not a valid freedom of information request. Can you please confirm if there is any recorded information that you require in regards to the above.

Your request will be kept on hold until we have received clarification from you.

Francesca Higgins

Dear PENNINECARE, Foi (PENNINE CARE NHS FOUNDATION TRUST),

Thank you for your response. Please see below the clarifications to your queries:

1. By Integration system i refer to the integration engine that is used which allows for the exchange of data between different health systems (Such as Orion Rhapsody, Intersystems, Graphnet etc.)

2. Evaluating clinical systems would refer to an assessment of the current state of the clinical systems such as Electronic Patient Record/Patient Administration System, assessing whether they are fit for purpose etc.

3. IM&T would mean Information Management and Technology. If you have a general overarching ICT department structure that would be fine. The ICT service you mention is also fine.

4. Interim refers to both agency staff and contractors at the trust

5. By IT services this could cover things like cloud, networking, desktop management, data centre, mobile device management, server management, IT security etc.

6. This is merely a request to understand if there are any plans for the trust to move any of their IT services to an external party over the next few years unless it is already outsourced.

Yours sincerely,

Kyle Preston
