Department for Education

Dear Mr Hogan,
Thank you for your e-mail of 5 August in which you made a Freedom of
Information request for a list, in excel or CSV format, of the proposed
dates for the GCSE exams in ALL subjects, for ALL examination bodies for
2014.

I have dealt with your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Under section 21 of the Act, the Department for Education (DfE) is not
required to provide information in response to a request if it is already
reasonably accessible to you. The information you requested is available
on the Department website at:
[1]http://www.education.gov.uk/comptimetable/. This holds information on
all of the GCSE/GCE examinations provided by the main awarding
organisations. Whilst the DfE host this online, the awarding organisations
are responsible for their data within this tool.

I hope this information is useful to you.

Dear Department for Education,

Unfortunately it doesn't help at all. I had already found the site you pointed me to before I made my request. It was precisely because of the format in which the information is offered on that site, that I framed my request in the language I used.

I asked for a list of ALL proposed exam dates.

At present on that site I am unable to download such a list.

I can only download partial lists for each subject.

I need the complete list.
If you don't have it, can you please say so quickly so we can all move on.

If you do, can you please supply it ASAP.

Thanks

Neither of those things are available on the

Dear Mr Hogan,
Thank you for your further e-mail of 20 August regarding a list of the
proposed dates for GCSE exams in all subjects, for all examination bodies
for 2014.

I have dealt with your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

I am sorry that you could not access successfully the Department for
Education site to which I gave you a link in my last reply. If I had been
aware of the problems you were having accessing information from this
site, I would not have referred you to the site in my initial response.
Thank you for coming back and informing me of the problems you are
experiencing on this site.  I have raised the issue with colleagues in the
Department who are now investigating.

Please find attached an excel list that I was able to obtain from the site
for 2013/14.

The list only covers exams to the summer of 2014. Exams dates after summer
2014 will begin to be added later in the year. This is an on-going process
as awarding organisations first upload their provisional exam dates and
then provide confirmation of the final dates.

If you have any queries about this letter, please contact me and quote the
reference number below in any future communications.

If you are unhappy with the way your request has been handled, you should
make a complaint to the Department by writing to me within two calendar
months of the date of this letter. Your complaint will be considered by an

consideration of your request.

If you are not content with the outcome of your complaint to the
