Dear Glasgow City Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Glasgow City Council's handling of my FOI request 'GCC and CoC Joint Memorandum of Understanding'.

Varry McMenemy of Chamber of Commerce is quoted as saying:

"We long ago decided as a Chamber that it was far better to work closely in partnership with the City Council to help Glasgow succeed and we have formalised that partnership in a joint member of understanding. Together we are tackling issues we believe are of importance to our success – action plans for ensuring the success of our vital city centre, actions to help tackle youth unemployment, actions to make the city attractive for business investors both home grown and from beyond our boundaries."

It is utterly absurd to suggest the above is not very much in the public interest. Please promptly release the requested information.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address:

Yours faithfully,

For clarity Varry McMenemy's comments:

"We long ago decided as a Chamber that it was far better to work closely in partnership with the City Council to help Glasgow succeed and we have formalised that partnership in a joint memorandum of understanding. Together we are tackling issues we believe are of importance to our success – action plans for ensuring the success of our vital city centre, actions to help tackle youth unemployment, actions to make the city attractive for business investors both home grown and from beyond our boundaries."

This quote is from McMenemy's speech at the 15th State of the City Economy Conference in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Glasgow.
