Dear Dino,

I am writing in response to your request for information on the Furlough
Scheme.

Firstly, I must apologise for the delay in being able to provide you with
this information, The University of Nottingham's Human Resources
Department are currently in the midst of one of the busiest and most
challenging periods since its inception, however we have been able to
locate and supply all of the information you have requested, and are
responses are below marked in blue.

Q1: Total number of employees in the Estates division

As at 7th June 2020 there were 628 employees

Q2: Total number of Estates division employees currently furloughed as of
7 June 2020

328 employees

Q3: Total number of Estates division employees furloughed at any time
since the scheme was introduced

338 employees

Please note the following methodology and criteria used-

•           Figures are provided on a headcount basis; therefore, details
are extracted from an employee’s main post only, any details from
secondary posts are excluded.

•           Staff included are any contractual member of staff whose main
post is within the Faculty of Estates.

•           All Job Families have been included in this request which
includes; Administrative Professional & Managerial, Operations &
Facilities, Apprenticeship and Technical Services.

•           The figures provided in this FOI includes staff which may not
have been claimed for under the Job Retention Scheme to HMRC. For example,
they were not on the February 2020 RTI and so are not eligible to be
claimed for.

•           If an employee has 2 or more posts, then they must be
furloughed in both posts to be included for the purposes of this FOI. So
one employee may be counted twice.

I trust this meets your requirements.

If you are unhappy with the way in which your request has been handled and
wish to request a review of our response or to make a complaint, please
see the attached information sheet and form.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any enquiries regarding
this email.

Yours sincerely

Catherine Allin
