Funding to the arts/culture

The request was partially successful.

Dear Durham County Council,

I am researching the impact of Leaving the European Union on the arts and culture, particularly in the North East of England.

However, I noticed that the Dept. for exiting the EU has closed therefore I am contacting Dept. for Culture, Media and Sport for help.

I would like to be sent any of the following:
financial contributions towards the arts and culture from June 2016
financial contributions towards the arts and culture by region
impact of the loss of freedom of movement on the arts and culture
impact on movement of artefacts or items of artistic or historical interest
the impact on buildings/centres/museums originally built or funded by the EU

Yours faithfully,

M.Luck

Durham County Council

Dear M Luck

Freedom of Information Act 2000

I am writing to ask you to clarify your request. This is because we are
not certain that we have understood your request correctly and we need
further details from you in order to identify and locate the information.
Therefore I should be grateful if you would explain what you mean by the
following.
I would like to be sent any of the following:
financial contributions towards the arts and culture from June 2016
1. What do you define as "arts and culture"
2. What do mean by financial contribution? Do you mean what is the
council's budget for "arts and culture" however that is defined?
financial contributions towards the arts and culture by region
3. We are a unitary council so what do you mean by region? Is this even
applicable to local government?
impact of the loss of freedom of movement on the arts and culture
4. What does this mean and how would you measure it so that we could
search for recorded information that might able able to answer it.

impact on movement of artefacts or items of artistic or historical
interest
5. What do you mean by "impact" If you mean "does the council send things
to Europe or abroad, then please confirm"

the impact on buildings/centres/museums originally built or funded by the
EU
6. What do you mean by this and how would we measure this "impact" so that
we could provide recorded information. It is unlikely we would have
recorded information on this in the unitary council.

I will not be able to take this matter further without this extra
information from you. Please let me know by 07/12/2020.

If I do not hear from you within the timeframe provided, I shall take it
that you do not wish to pursue this request and will consider the request
closed.

If you need assistance, please contact me on 03000
268038 or [email address].

Yours faithfully
