Full time and part time staff numbers by gender

The request was successful.

Dear University of Liverpool,

I was reviewing your Statutory Pay Gap Report[1] and checking that the figures added up[2] when I was struck by the fact that it contains almost no information about the numbers of full and part-time staff, in spite of the evidence that part time working plays a crucial role in the gender pay gap.[3]

According to your website[4] Liverpool University has three main Faculties: (1) Health & Life Sciences, (2) Science & Engineering, and (3) Humanities & Social Sciences. The Heath & Life Sciences website, for example, states that it has "900+ members of research staff working within the Faculty."[5]

It is my understanding that academic staff are divided into those with: (a) Teaching and Scholarship contracts, (b) Teaching and Research contracts, and (c) Other research contracts.

Please may I have a table of the numbers of (i) Full time male staff, (ii) Part time male staff, (iii) Full time female staff, (iv) Part time female staff for each of the categories of Faculty and Academic Contract type?

This should be a table of 3x4x4 numbers. The total of all the numbers will be the number of academic staff and be less than 7509, the full pay relevant employees in 2019.

Thank you

[2] eg In the 2019 report, multiply Table 4 by Table 6 for men: £10.23*17.45% + 15.54*20.33 + 19.67*28.46 + 37.65*33.77 = £23.25 which matches the number from Table 2
