Dear Heriot-Watt University,

Please can you provide the following information?

1 - Please advise the total spend on recruitment agencies in the last
during 2018/2019 ? The University’s spend on temporary and agency staff
for the academic year 2018/2019 was £1,532,673.6 in total. 
2 - Please advise what the temporary agency spend for admin, call centre,
data processing and clerical roles during 2018/2019 ? The University has
no requirement to record this information and this is therefore
exempt from release under Section 17:  Information not held. 
3 - Please advise what the temporary agency spend for roles such as
warehouse, catering and cleaners during 2018/2019? The University has no
requirement to record this information and this is therefore exempt from
release under Section 17:  Information not held. 
4 - Please advise what the permanent agency spend has been during
2018/2019 ? For contracts that do not have a specific end date it is
estimated that the permanent agency spend was £887K. 
5 - Which recruitment agencies have you used in the last 12 months for
admin, call centre, data processing , clerical, warehouse, catering and
cleaners?  The University currently calls-off the SUPC Temporary and
Permanent Recruitment, as well as Interim IT Services and Professional
Services Staff Services, framework agreements.  We have also used our own
local agreements.   Our suppliers used have been : EXPERIS; BLUE ARROW;
LINTON RECRUITMENT; PARITY PROFESSIONALS; SPRING TECHNOLOGY STAFFING
SERVICES; HARVEY NASH; TIME RECRUITMENT SERVICES; REED SPECIALIST
RECRUITMENT; THEORISE; DRIVER HIRE BORDERS; SEARCH RECRUITMENT & SELECTION
We are planning to retender and put in place a temporary and agency staff
framework agreement in 2021.

6 - Which framework agreements do you use for agencies? ie Scottish
Government, APUK, Crown Commercial Services? As in Q5 above.

7 - What process do recruitment agencies have to follow to be given jobs
to work on? If your organisation would like to tender for business with
