I think its Home Office code for " **** off ".
Time to complain [again] to the ICO. At which point I get a decision notice. That the Home Office will then ignore. So I have to complain to the ICO again.
And eventually I get a letter from the Home Office that says how "very sorry they are".
They are appalling. The people who work in the HO FoIA team are among the most torpid civil servants in the UK.

The Home Office habitually sends its responses to FOI requests from a "FOI Responses" mailbox which does not accept incoming mail.
Thus, when you respond with a follow up / internal review request / etc., you should select the option to write to the main FOI address for the Home Office instead. Then it'll get through. It's not a question of theirs not accepting FOI messages anymore at all, just that no-reply FOI Responses mailbox causing an issue.

One side effect (or possibly the cause) of this obstructive policy is that it enables the Home Office or in my case, the Office for Security and Counter Terrorism, to keep their FOI replies private - they end up communicating directly by email with the requester, and do NOT put their final responses on the WhatDoTheyKnow site.
For example, see my annotation at https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/l... - where the result of the internal review was posted to me privately but never posted by them on WhatDoTheyKnow in the thread of the original request. So I posted it instead and asked for an explanation. I never got one either publicly or privately.
As one former Home Secretary reported in 2011 - they are "not fit for purpose" (and apparently he was quoting a "senior civil servant"

Does the latest response from Home Office mean that they've stopped receivinging their FOI emails from WhatDoTheyKnow completely? It's a rather worrying sign - even for the holiday season.
