Dear Ceredigion Council,

1. What is the job title / what are the job titles of the person / team who receive and allocate FOI and EIR requests and send out responses – if it is a central corporate function?
If the function is devolved and the Departments send out their own responses, then what is the job title of the person who oversees/monitors/advises on the requests?
2. What is the pay band of these individuals?
3. Do they also handle Data Protection requests?
4. Do they also handle general complaints?
5. How many FOI and EIR requests were received in 2014 (calendar year)?

I am writing in response to the Freedom of Information request you
submitted to the Authority on the 8^th February 2015.  Please see below
the answers to your questions:

 

1.      What is the job title / what are the job titles of the person /
team who receive and allocate FOI and EIR requests and send out responses
– if it is a central corporate function?

 

If the function is devolved and the Departments send out their own
responses, then what is the job title of the person who
oversees/monitors/advises on the requests?

          The recording and allocation of all FOIs is a central corporate
function which is the responsibility of the Corporate Complaints & FOI
Officer.  However, support is also currently being provided by the
Administrative Assistant for Complaints, FOI & DP in Social Services to
log and distribute daily requests.

         

Each Service has a designated ‘Link Officer/s’ who identify the most
appropriate Officer to provide the information, record the response and
ensure that this is in accordance with FOIA/EIR.  The Link Officer role is
an additional element to their existing duties within the Service itself.

 

2.      What is the pay band of these individuals?

This information is deemed to be personal information and is therefore
being withheld under s.40 (2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000,
which is an absolute exemption.  It is felt that disclosing this
information would be a breach of one or more of the Data Protection
principles.

 

3.      Do they also handle Data Protection requests?

          Yes – though again, as ‘Link Officers’ collating information
and/or routing DP requests.

 

4.      Do they also handle general complaints?

          Yes

 

5.      How many FOI and EIR requests were received in 2014 (calendar
year)?

          941
