Re: FOI Response FOI156769888 "Freedom of Information request - FOI
request school patrol officers".

Dear Jon Parker-Dean,

Please can you help me with the following Freedom of Information Act
request?

- In the financial year 2009/10, or if this information is not held in the
most recent year prior to 2018/19 for which figures are available, how
many School Crossing Patrol Officers (or persons with equivalent job
titles) were employed by the authority?

In the financial year of 2009/2010 there were 16 School Crossing Patrol
Officers employed by the Local Authority.

- How many Full Time Equivalent hours did they work over the course of the
year?

This exact information is not available, however School Crossing Patrol
Officers on average work two shifts per day (morning drop off/afternoon
collection) during school term times (32 weeks per year) lasting
approximately 45 minutes to an hour depending on the school location.
Eight of the above 16 School Crossing Patrol Officers also worked 45mins
to an hour on a lunchtime shift when children used to leave school to go
home for lunch.

- How many School Crossing Patrol Officers (or persons with equivalent job
titles) were employed by the authority in 2018/19?

In the financial year of 2018/2019 there were five School Crossing Patrol
Officers employed by the Local Authority.

- How many Full Time Equivalent hours did they work over the course of the
year?

The five School Crossing Patrols collectively work nine hours per day, so
based on a 32 week school year the School Crossing Patrols worked
approximately 1,440 hours (this may vary due to schools having different
inset days or training days).
