FOI request: price list (Electoral Services) marked register (Prenton 2010) & information on sales of it

Roedd y cais yn llwyddiannus.

Dear Wirral Borough Council,

Please class this as a Freedom of Information Act request. This FOI request is in two parts.

Part 1
I am requesting a price list for the charges charged by Wirral Council's Electoral Services for the following:-

(a) the marked list of polling station voters for Prenton ward for the election held for a councillor in May 2010 on

(i) paper
(ii) electronically

(b) the marked list of postal voters for Prenton ward for the election held for a councillor in May 2010

(i) paper
(ii) electronically

Part 2

The total amount (and individual amounts with dates) that Wirral Council has received (even if £NIL) from person/s requesting:-

(a) the marked list of polling station voters for Prenton ward for the election held for a councillor in May 2010 whether in paper form or electronically
(b) the marked list of postal voters for Prenton ward for the election held for a councillor in May 2010 whether in paper form or electronically

If you need any further information or I have been unclear, please be in touch. For clarity marked refers to a mark against people's names who have voted. Just to be ultra clear, I'm not asking for the actual marked registers themselves which in any event would probably exceed the cost threshold.

Yours faithfully,

John Brace

Surely, whether or not an individual has exercised their vote in a particular election is confidential information and should not be available for "all and sundry" to obtain without that individual's prior consent?

@Casey Jones

It's based on what the law states and it's an important check and balance in our political system to prevent voter fraud. Copies are available to candidates, agents and political parties. The public can go in and inspect the list of people who have voted (if they so wish).

Also political parties tend to target (at election time) people who voted last time on the basis that they're likely to vote again.
