FOI Administration Info

The request was successful.

Dear Belfast City Council,

I would like to make an FOI request for the following pieces of information:

1. How many people are employed to deal with FOI?
2. What is the budget for administering FOI?
3. Do you use case management software for FOI? If so, which one?
4. Do you publish a disclosure log?

If not all information is available, please treat questions individually.

Yours faithfully,

Alex Parsons

Records - Chief Exec Records Manager, Belfast City Council

Dear Mr Parsons

Thank you for your email dated 26 June 2018 requesting, under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, details on Belfast City Council's administration of freedom of information requests. I apologise for the delay in replying to you.

I can confirm that the Council holds the information you have requested and has decided that it can be disclosed into the public domain. Accordingly, this information is detailed below. I have responded to your queries in the order you set them out in your email.

1. Each staff member is required to deal with requests depending on the subject of the request. There is one full-time equivalent post in the Information Governance Unit.
2. There is no specific budget for administrating FOIs.
3. No.
4. No.

If you are dissatisfied with how the Council handled your request for information, you have the right to request that the Council formally review this decision. If you wish to do so, please write to the Records Manager, Belfast City Council, Chief Executive's Department, City Hall, Belfast, BT1 5GS.

Should you remain dissatisfied following the Council's internal review, you can seek an independent review from the Information Commissioner. Requests for an independent review should be made in writing to: The Information Commissioner, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF. However, I would advise you that the Information Commissioner has indicated that a review will not be undertaken unless the Council has first had an opportunity to re-consider its decision.

Yours sincerely

Moya Sheridan
