Noting the ever increasing focus by the Government on NOx emissions, especially by diesel vehicles, could you please provide the following information.

For the calendar years 2016, 2017 & 2018 YTD the total number of cars delivered under a contract hire or lease agreement, broken down to show the number of those that are;

- diesel
- petrol
- hybrid (both diesel and petrol)
- plug-in hybrid (both diesel and petrol)
- battery electric vehicle

For each engine type please also confirm the average annual contract mileage.

Please also provide the same information for deliveries anticipated during 2018.

We respond to requests under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and
Environmental Information Regulations 2004.

 

Fleet cars are selected on the basis of their emissions, health and safety
considerations, operational effectiveness and whole life cost. Regular
vehicle reviews are undertaken to ensure best value, with vehicle choice
lists being updated as needed, and wherever possible selecting new greener
technology such as hybrids and pure electric vehicles.

 

The following tables shows a breakdown cars by fuel type (2016, 2017,
2018, anticipated deliveries)

We no longer lease diesel cars, the 2 diesel deliveries post 15 March are
as a result of extended manufacturer lead times.
