Dear Dr Krishna-Thalagavara

Reference: IAT/ME/F15/6832

I am sorry for the delay in replying to your e-mail of 19 January 2015.

I can confirm that in 2014 a total of 101 FTP hearings (including IOP) were postponed. This figure does not include administrative postponements (in which the doctor had not been notified of the hearing). It also does not relate to adjourned hearings.

As regards your question about the reasons for the postponement: We are not aware of any of the above postponements being due to the GMC not serving the invitation to the doctor in accordance with the rules.

I hope that this information is helpful to you.

Regards
Mark Ellen
