"FIRST DIBS" on New Build Social Housing - Do council employees/or their families get priority????

taryn taylor made this Freedom of Information request to Norfolk County Council This request has been closed to new correspondence. Contact us if you think it should be reopened.

Norfolk County Council did not have the information requested.

Dear Norfolk County Council,

Under the FOI act, please can you supply all information & papers relating to all NEW BUILD SOCIAL HOUSING;

1) Does the council have any say/input or authority, on the "actual numbers" of properties , to be assigned for Social Housing Stock on NEW DEVELOPMENTS?
2) If they do , why do they not request a larger number ie; at least half of every new development?
This could then be subdivided into Actual Affordable rents & Actual Affordable homes to buy
for Local people based on that county's, average Low incomes ?
3) Does the council have any input , as to how many of these properties, are to be assigned ONLY for the Disabled/Elderly ?
The disabled/elderly , only seem to be allocated/given very old stock, as far back as the 60's & 70's? Most of which do not meet their needs.
4) Do any of the councils employees or their families, receive any priority for NEW BUILD STOCK?
5) Why does the council NOT follow other councils , such as North Norfolk Council. And openly advertise all available housing stock to buy or rent, OLD & NEW?
6) Why are the disabled/elderly told by your housing team, "You get what you are given"?

Yours faithfully,

taryn taylor
