First British Passport Application of Child from India - Delay

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, HM Passport Office should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear HM Passport Office,

This is with respect to delay (21 weeks) in processing First British Passport Application of my son from abroad(India).

Myself Siva Thota and my wife Mani Yammani are both full time IT professionals and during our visit to India last year(28-10-2016 to 14-11-2016) we came to know about my wife's health condition is not in a good state to travel back to the UK and she was been put on bed rest. I had to travel back to the UK leaving my wife in India for delivery due to her health condition. Our Son was born in India on 9th March 2017 and I have applied for his first British passport from abroad(India) on 19th April 2017.Since I need to travel back to the UK as soon possible to join my work, my wife stayed back in India along with our Son as she was on Maternity Leave. I have submitted all requested documents by Her Majesty’s Passport Office including My British Passport copy, British Citizenship Certificates, my wife's original INDIAN Passport, Hospital records of my wife both UK and India, Marriage Certificate, Indian hospital records of our son etc.

Applicant Details:
Name: Dhruva Thota
Application Number: 2918538818

We have not received any communication or any update regarding the progress of our son's application. I have been phoning with Passport office to get the status of my son's application & I am getting a stereotyped response that "status of the application is under processing, we are doing security checks and we can't disclose anything more than this. "I am surprised why security checks for newly born applicant take so long!

I have been away from my child & wife for more than 5 months now.I am missing all the milestones of my son and even child is not getting enough attention and fatherly love. My wife should join her work soon and still, we haven't got our son's passport yet. We are afraid that she might have to lose her job which would make things worst for us financially.

I am really hopeful that my voice will be heard by any means!, and I would be able to meet my family soon.

Will you kindly let me know the reason for the delay and let me know the status of my son's passport application? I am ready to provide any further information\documents required to expedite the processing time.

Yours faithfully,

siva thota
