Firearms Crime Statistics for Nottinghamshire
Dear Nottinghamshire Police,
I am writing to make a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Please could you tell me, for your force area and for each of the last 10 years that you are able to, the following:
• Number of deaths due to .22” bullets
• Number of injuries due to .22” bullets
• Number of other incidents involving legally held .22” firearms
• Number of arrests relating to .22” firearms (legally and illegally held)
• Number of convictions arising from offences involving .22” firearms (legally and illegally held)
• Number of unsolved cases involving .22” firearms
• Number of air weapons seized that use a self-contained gas cartridge, also called “tandem air cartridge” (TAC) or “Brocock”
• Number of .22” firearms held on firearm certificates
Please could you also tell me the calibres and brands of ammunition used by the force’s AFOs, both while training and while on duty.
If this request is too wide or unclear, I would be grateful if you could contact me as I understand that under the Act, you are required to advise and assist requesters. If any of this information is already in the public domain, please can you direct me to it, with page references and URLs if necessary.
