Dear Mr Lamb

Reference: IR1-2650310681

Thank you for your e-mail of 23 March 2020.

Looking at back copies of the Medical Register for the mid 1970s, there
are several doctors with the surname Valentine who held registration.
Without a first name and/or details of where and when the person you are
looking for gained their qualification, it will not be possible to
positively identify the doctor you are looking for. It is only quite
recently that we started to keep records of where a doctor is working and
so the fact that the person you are looking for worked at the Pregnancy
Advisory Service will not assist in trying to identify him.

It occurs to me that the Medical Directory may hold clues as to the person
you are seeking. The Medical Directory is a commercial publication and is
not connected to the GMC. Each doctor listed in it tends to also have a
short biography of where they work/have worked. We do hold some back
copies of the Directory, but these are held in our office and, during the
current pandemic, it is not possible to access the office. Can I suggest
that you contact me again when the pandemic crisis is over and normal
working has resumed. I would then be able to search our back copies of the
Medical Directory.

Kind regards

Mark Ellen
