Under the Freedom of Information Act please advise:

a) which police force demonstrated the facial recognition cctv system in London as per the above tweet.

b) whether the facial recognition was demonstrated on static or mobile cameras.

c) when discussions at the council started on facial recognition. Please list dates of discussions started with BID, Essex Police and the force demonstrating the facial recognition.

d) what further action will be taken on the possible use of facial recognition by the council, BID or the police.

Some parts of this request may be easier to answer than others and in such case please could you release available data as soon as possible rather than delay the entire request.

If you are not fully certain of what it is I am asking then I look forward to contact from you as soon as possible to clarify what it is I am requesting in order to meet your obligations under the law.

I can confirm that a search for the information has been completed.

 

a)  We believe it was a demonstration by the company FaceWatch, rather
than a London Police Force, the council does not hold any further
information in relation to this meeting or any discussions that took
place.  As this was arranged by Essex Police please may I suggest you
re-direct your request to Essex Police, Southend Police Station.
