Dear Lynn Blurton,

thank you for your reply and the attached documents.

Can you please consider resending me the 2008/9 hospitality register with the details of the donor if it is a company, other corporate body or sole trader, but not individuals details such as patients.

I believe this enables a better scrutiny of public bodies as the frequency and amount sponsored by companies can be better understood.
There would be a reasonable expectation that companies are aware of the NHS 2000 Sponsorship guidance which expects disclosure of the hospitality register and that NHS bodies should make companies aware of this.
Disclosure is also in line with disclosures by NHS bodies of details of individual companies that have tendered for NHS services.
There is generally a presumption of openness in the NHS, being one of the seven Nolan Principles.
Non-disclosure may arouse unjustified questions why the NHS or company may not wish disclosure.

Yours sincerely,

Gerry Hallright

Dear Lynn Blurton,

thank you very much for your reply.

Can you tell me if Derby County FC has any commercial links with the PCT or if the PCT supplies services to DCFC? What arrangement exists for supplying tickets to the PCT?

Do you keep information on any sponsorship by pharmacutical or medical companies to the PCT?

Yours sincerely,

Gerry Hallright

DEar Lynn Burton,

thank you for your reply dated the 9th September 2010.
I am still unclear about the relationship between DCPCT and DCFC and if there was a joint body or enterprise between these bodies.
The information below suggests that there were payments from DCPCT for advertising etc.

The PCT Engagement Strategy dated 29th October 2009 states:
"In addition we have developed a programme of activities promoting the Freshstart stop smoking service in collaboration with derby county football club through the 2008/2009 season and continuing into 2009/2010. Pitch side and programme advertising, player endorsements and DCFC media slots have contributed to raising the awareness of the service in the target audience."

Trust Board 2nd April 2009
Strategic Health Improvement and Investment Committee
meeting of 18th March 2009
"Derby County Football Club proposal feedback
A pilot would be run to establish the return on investment of the proposed social marketing programme with Derby County Football Club."

""Vision for Health" launched by PCTs the 4th July at the Dave McKay Suite, DCFC"

Please give information about what payments were made to DCFC or companies associated with DCFC during 2008/9 and 2009/10 from the PCT, distinguishing if possible between the Freshstart programme and other payments eg for venue bookings etc.

Yours sincerely,

Gerry Hallright
