Dear Paris

1. There are no particular trends as to whether more boys or girls get excluded and no reasons for this.
2. There have been more permanent exclusions as would ordinarily be the case for gross misconduct.
3. Any student in breach of the student code of conduct would face a disciplinary hearing. The outcome of this might be suspension, exclusion or a warning that a further breach would lead to suspension or exclusion. It depends on the seriousness of the breach.
4. Exclusion is not on the rise and numbers have fallen in recent years.

Dear Worcester Sixth Form College,

I have recently made a FOI request following exclusion. Would it be possibly to request more information for my findings?

1. Are boys or girls more likely to get excluded? And why is this?
2. In the past 5 years, have there been more permanent exclusions or fixed term exclusions?
3. Do your students get warnings before exclusions?
4. Is exclusion within your institution on the rise through the last 5 years? Or are you finding the number is lowering each year?
