2. Do you currently work to a legal panel and if so, who are the firms on that panel that currently advise Somerset County Council?

Thank you for your request for information of which we are dealing with
under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.  We are currently dealing with

I am writing in respect of your recent request for information from
Somerset County Council, which has been dealt with under the provisions of
the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

 

I can confirm that we do hold the information that you are seeking and we
are able to provide it to you.

 

Our response is detailed in bold format underneath your questions as
follows.

 

Please could you provide an answer to the following three questions:

 

Q1. What was the councils spend on external legal advice for the financial
year 2013/2014?

 

A1.  £845,021.12.

 

Q2. Do you currently work to a legal panel and if so, who are the firms on
that panel that currently advise Somerset County Council?

 

A2.  Legal Services instruct Solicitors under the Cornwall Framework
Agreement which is due to cease on 20^th February 2015.  This framework is
procured by Cornwall Council.  Occasionally we will instruct Solicitors
procured under the Crown Commercial Service.

 

Q3. In relation to question 2, do you have a legal panel review date?

 

A3.  We do not have a review date for that service but details of
opportunity to become a supplier can be found on their website.
