Excavation work at the Clean Plate site in Gloucester

We're waiting for S Rhosier (Ataliwyd y cyfrif) to read a recent response and update the status.

Gloucestershire Constabulary

Please advise the protocol by which a member of the public may query certain details from thee statement and video released by your force today:
https://www.gloucestershirelive.co.uk/ne...

An attempt was made by telephone earlier today via 101 but was received with obstructive hostility as soon as the caller requested how to send a message to Scene of Crime Officer Martin Cuffey.

The points of concern are:

1. At 1.27 of the video, there are what look like bones from small human lumbar vertebrae in the rear of the two light-coloured trays. In the statement released today, the following words appear - 'we can confirm no human remains or items of significance to the investigation have been found.' The bones in the tray are not animal bones, nor would there be a rational reason for any animal bones to be left in situ beneath a renovated floor area at the level you were advised to dig.

2. Certain materials gathered from the six cavities identified as areas of interest by forensic experts were tested and subsequently reported to be clay.
As noted here: https://www.labc.co.uk/news/foundations-..., clay soil beneath a foundation in the Gloucester area would be 'high plasticity', e.g. containing more than 40% water. The soil exposed in the video is dry and crumbly at all depths with no appearance of damp as would be present in a clay floorbed. Where was the 'clay' found within the area of the dig?

Please pass these queries to the relevant officer and ask them to respond with the correct method of addressing them directly.

Gadawodd S Rhosier (Ataliwyd y cyfrif) anodiad ()

I'm keeping my powder dry on this one to see what they come back with.

But there's far far more to this than meets the eye, as I now know, and I'll be discussing that here in due course.

When might I expect your response?

For clarification:

Re: Point 1
What specific animal bones were found - age, species etc.?

Re: Point 2
See https://i.pinimg.com/originals/a4/47/ca/...
It is simply not possible geologically for a clay layer to form on top of a soil layer.

I would now like to see all the photographs amassed as part of your investigation which were specifically taken of the excavation works carried out in the basement toilet area. There should be no objection to this request.
