Dear Sovereign South+West,
I am requesting information on
1. how many evictions for arrears caused by bedroom tax that have occured since 2013 until
2016
2. How many evictions were caused by housing benefit delays
3. How many tennants were offered to have the arrears cleared if they downsized
4. How many took this offer and downsized
5. How many tennants refused this offer
6. How many tennants were cleared of arrears when housing benefit was eventually paid not including arrears from court charges
7. How many tennants without arrears were refused downsizing from a 3 bed to 2bed and only
offered a 1 bed flat or bedsit
8. How many tennants were approached in bournemouth crown court and offered to have
their rent arrears cleared if they signed the document to downsize their 3bed house. This is illegal . It is called BLACKMAIL INTIMIDATION ,EXTORTION AND FRAUDULENT USE OF PUBLIC
FUNDS.
9. Sovereign housing have done absolutely nothing to help their tennants in these matters and were well aware that christchurch housing benefit dept were delaying claims for 3 bed properties for up to seven months but sovereign still took tennants to court causing hundreds of pounds of court charges adding to the arrears and eviction.
10. How many 3bed and 2 bed properties were obtained by you through either eviction or downsizing

8.  As this is not something we do, the data is not available.

10.  The data is not available for households that have downsized, but we
have recovered two 3 bed properties and eight 2 bed properties through
evictions.

 

Hopefully this answers a couple of your questions, but as you can see,
some of the data you’ve requested isn’t readily available. If you wish us
to do further research we are happy to help to see what we can find out,
but there will be a time and cost implication to this. Please let me know
how you want to proceed.
