Evesham fire station callout log

The request was partially successful.

Dear Hereford and Worcester Fire Brigade,

Please could you provide me with a detailed log of all callouts responded to by crews based at Evesham Fire Station for the period 1 January 2010 to date (or, if this is not possible, as far back as you have the data).

Ideally, I would like this as a spreadsheet containing the following columns:

Date and time of callout
Number of full time crews responding
Number of retained crews responding
Approximate location of incident (eg, street name or road number)
Type of incident (eg, fire, RTA, water rescue, false alarm, etc)
Brief description of incident

However, if you already have the data in an existing spreadsheet which also contains other columns, or data that can be used to derive this information, then I am happy to accept it in the existing format if this is less work for you.

Alternatively, if this data is already available in suitable form via the web, then a direct link to the relevant download page would be sufficient.

Yours faithfully,

Mark Goodge

Dear Mr Goodge

Thank you for your [1]Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) request which
was received by Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (the Service)
on 28 March 2017.  Specifically your request was for:

• a detailed log of all callouts responded to by crews based at Evesham
Fire Station for the period 1 January 2010 to date (or, if this is not
possible, as far back as you have the data), to include:

◦ Date and time of callout
◦ Number of full time crews responding
◦ Number of retained crews responding
◦ Approximate location of incident (e.g., street name or road number)
◦ Type of incident (e.g., fire, RTA, water rescue, false alarm, etc.)
Brief description of incident

The Service can confirm the requested information is partially held as
attached (Microsoft Excel and CSV formats). Since 2011, the Service has
recorded incidents on the Incident Recording System (IRS) which can be
interrogated to produce the data requested.  Prior to this date, the
Service used the Management Information System (MIS) where individual
incident reports can be accessed. Additionally, changes to category and
property types were brought in by the Department of Communities and Local
Government (now Home Office) in September 2012; as a result there is no
direct comparison on the MIS or IRS system prior to this date.  The
attached spread sheet therefore provides information on Incident
Categories and Numbers since 2010 and a detailed breakdown for Evesham
Fire Station from 2012 to date.

Additionally the IRS does not differentiate between Wholetime and Retained
deployments.  As a result, to ascertain the number of Wholetime and
Retained personnel who attended individual Incidents would require payroll
records to be reviewed for each Incident.

It is estimated to conduct this review would take 649 hours to complete,
based on the following calculation:

• 2596 Incidents x 15 minutes per record = 38940 minutes or 649 hours or
27 days

This exceeds the 18 hours cost ceiling or £450 worth of work as per
[2]FOIA Section 12.  Should you wish to progress with this section of your
request, please contact the Performance & Information Department to
arrange payment of fees.

If you have any questions regarding your application, please contact the
Performance & Information Department on tel: 0345 12 24454 or by e-mail to
[3][email address].  In any such communication, please include the FOIA
number assigned.

Should you have any queries regarding the management of your request and
wish to make a complaint, in the first instance please do so using
Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service's complaints system:
[4]Comments and Complaints.  If you are not satisfied with the outcome of
the internal review, you may appeal the decision by contacting the
Information Commissioner, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, SK9 5AF,
Tel: 0303 123 1113 (alternatively 01625 545745) or E-mail: [5][email
address]
