D Sarin made this Rhyddid Gwybodaeth request to
Dear Wiltshire Constabulary,
Please provide answers to my questions a, b, c, d and e below:
a)What permission does a researcher require from your constabulary to interview police constables, detective inspectors and police sargeants on local drug markets?
There's a recent research by a J Spicer on "how police officers are interpreting County Lines" in the South West region. Internally funded studentship from The University of the West of England. Public Link https://doi.org/10.1080/10439463.2018.14...
b)Did your constabulary grant ethical approval for this research to take place among your police officers?
c)Did the police constables, detective inspectors and police sargeants in this study provide their consent?
d)If ethical approval was granted for this research, please supply me with the relevant documents.
e)If ethical approval was not granted for this research, what further actions would you take?
Please see the attached acknowledgement. Please be aware that whilst we are conscious that we have to respond within 20 working days we are currently dealing with a large amount of FOI requests. We are doing all that we can to address the backlog and will respond to you as soon as we can.
