Dear Department for Communities (Northern Ireland),
As has been highly publicised a number of individuals were underpaid in the switch-over from incapacity benefit/income support, to ESA.
Can you please state how many claimants in N.Ireland were affected?
How many in each SSA area?
What is the average total claimants were underpaid?
Have all affected been contacted?
Has the absence of Stormont affected the speed with which claimants were notified?
Have any claimants identified as underpaid, deceased?
If yes, how many?
If yes, was the underpayment forwarded to anyone else on their behalf, eg: next of kin/carer?
Thank you for your time with this matter.
Please find attached a copy of the response which was issued to this
request on 1^st October 2018.
I have also attached a copy of the original issuing e-mail for
