Environmental Information Regulation (EIR)Programmes for sensitive species
Dear Aberdeen Harbour Board (AHB),
Environmental Information Regulation Request
I am writing to obtain information on your programmes for sensitive species. I understand your agent Harris Holden manages this.
Please provide a list of sensitive species and how their presence is monitored during dredging and other operations such as dumping large tetrapods.
For dredging it is a legal requirement to have an MMO (Marine Mammal Observer)on the vessel. Please provide any MMO logs, which either AHB or Harris Holden possess.
If you are not subject to EIR please state your reasons. If you do not possess this information, I will request it from Marine Scotland.
Yours faithfully,
Gordon C Stalker
Dear Mr Stalker
INFORMATION REQUEST
We refer to the information request you issued under the Environmental
Information Regulations 2004 on 11^th August 2020.
We are considering your request but due to the current COVID-19 pandemic,
we will not be in a position to respond to your request within 20 working
days. We are a small organisation and have diverted our resources to
maintaining our key service during the recent lockdown.
We anticipate that we will be in a position to respond to you by 6th
October 2020. We appreciate your patience and understanding at this time.
Yours sincerely
Chris Bain
on behalf of Aberdeen Harbour Board
Dear Chris Bain,
Thank you for your reply. You could ask your agent Harris Holden to source this information and therefore comply with statutory deadline. There may be a small cost associated with this but in comparison with your budget for AHEP it is but a drop in the ocean.
I would like to clarify that my enquiry relates to activities at AHEP but you should include any dredging activities within the existing port facilities and navigation channel.
Yours sincerely,
Gordon C Stalker
Dear Mr Stalker
To confirm, it will be members of staff from Aberdeen Harbour Board who
will be responding to your original request for information, and so the
resource restrictions that we referred to in our previous email still hold
true.
With reference to your second request for information received on 20th
August 2020, this time regarding our North Harbour operations, we are
unclear as to what information you are seeking. Please could you rephrase
your request so we can seek to address it.
With Kind Regards
Chris Bain
Good afternoon Mr Stalker
Further to your email of 11 August 2020, please see Aberdeen Harbour’s
response to the EIR Request. (Attached).
