Ending of Support For Mortgage Interest (S.M.T.) Benefit
Dear Department for Work and Pensions,
Please answer the following questions under the Freedom Of Information Act regarding the ending of Support for Mortgage Interest Benefit:-
1. How many people in the U.K. are affected by the ending of Support for Mortgage Interest Benefit in the U.K?
2. How many people in Sussex and in the Brighton and Hove Unitary Council areas are affected by the ending of this Benefit?
3. Are there any additional payments for Housing Costs that are being made to those affected by this change?
4. What is the Interest Rate being charged on the Loan Scheme that is being run by the D.W.P. and how often are the Interest Rates reviewed?
5. How does the ending of this Scheme fit in with the policies of other Government Departments to encourage home ownership?
Thank you.
Yours faithfully,
Rob Heale
