Effects of speed cameras being switched back on

Dear Thames Valley Police,

Please can you provide me with the following information for the period 1st August 2011 until 31st March 2012: -

1. The total number of people
a) killed and
b) seriously injured and
c) slightly injured on roads in Oxfordshire.

2. Please can you provide a list of causation factors for these accidents.

3. Please can you provide a separate breakdown of the above only at camera sites, similar to the information you provided a year ago for this FOI request?

I write in connection with your request for information dated 06/06/2012
which for clarity I repeat:

 

Please can you provide me with the following information for the period

Firstly Thames Valley Police can provide you with the following
information for Question 1 of your application relating to
collisions/casualties within Oxfordshire for the relevant timeframe:

 

Collisions       - 12 involving Fatal Injuries

                        - 176 involving Serious Injuries

                        - 902 involving Slight Injuries

 

Casualties      - 14 Fatally Injured

                        - 194 Seriously Injured

                        - 1263 Slightly Injured

 

Please note these figures are different as a collision may involve more
than one casualty.

 

Secondly, please refer to the attached PDF file entitled “RFI2012000443
Data1” for a list of Causation Factors as recorded by our system.

 

Thames Valley Police is also able to provide the following data relating
to collisions occurring at sites with fixed speed cameras:

 

Collisions       - 1 involving a Fatal Injury

                        - 11 involving Serious Injuries

                        - 61 involving Slight Injuries

 

Casualties      - 1 Fatal Injury

                        - 13 Seriously Injured

                        - 79 Slightly Injured

2” for a list of Causation Factors as recorded by our system.

 

Unfortunately, Thames Valley Police does not collate data relating to the
cost of camera enforcement in this format and we are unable to assist with
the final part of this application.
