Effect of coronavirus on home education

Roedd y cais yn rhannol lwyddiannus.

Dear Education Authority, Northern Ireland,

Could you please indicate statistics for the numbers of children who were registered as being educated at home up to the end of 2019 perhaps for the previous 4-5 years?

What statistics are held on numbers of children who have not returned to school since the new autumn term in 2020? How many of those have notified the Authority that they are to be home educated? Is there a significant difference in a particular age group compared to historical indications?

In terms of those pupils with special educational needs or medical needs requiring adaptations whether environmental or in terms of staffing, how do figures compare?

Are details held on the reasons given for children being home educated and if so, can those be presented statistically please?

Thanks in advance.

Yours faithfully,

J Tagg
