Mr Cell

At the moment Slough Borough Council do not have a Head of education or any education improvement officers within the council structure.

Education services in Slough are currently run by Cambridge Education.
However I understand in December these services will revert back to the council.

Mr Cell

I notice on the "whatdotheyknow.com" website that this request is classified as "long overdue".
When you originally requested this info the education team were not part of the council, therefore the council did not hold the data requested.
The team reverted back to the council in December 2016.
I sent the data you requested to you on the 20th December.
I am sending once again in case you missed the response.

To: Mrs Ward of SBC,

Please note that Education was, despite the failed and expensive out-sourcing under the previous Cllr Rob Anderson and Cllr James Swindlehurst Labour administration and former chief executive Ruth Bagley, a local authority responsibility and therefore the local authority had the legal liability to supply the data.

It is wrong and misleading to metaphorically wash the local authority's grubby hands by claiming Education was nothing to do with the local authority. Slough Unitary Authority should have contacted Cambridge Education and obtained the requested information for the gentleman. Remember the FOI 2000 s.16 ???

Here is is .....................

"16 Duty to provide advice and assistance.

(1) It shall be the duty of a public authority to provide advice and assistance, so far as it would be reasonable to expect the authority to do so, to persons who propose to make, or have made, requests for information to it."

Regards,

P Janik.
