Dear Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council,

As well as patrolling and attending alarm activations at schools is it correct that Wirral Community Patrol Officers also carry out other duties such as:

1. Patrol and attend alarm activations at Council buildings
2. Provide a security service at Council buildings such as the Conway Centre and Wallasey Town Hall
3. Observe, report and on occasion and when appropriate remove articles that cause obstruction to the highway
4. Report fly tipping, graffiti and dog fouling instances to relevant colleagues in the Council
5. Deal with Anti social behaviour in Council Buildings, Parks and Open Spaces
6. Attend Noise complaints in joint partnership with partner organisations such as Magenta Living
7. Be a visible, uniformed presence throughout all Wirral thus being a deterrent to potential trouble makers and providing reassurance to genuine members of the public
8. Provide a 24/7 365 service that includes a permanent on call Emergency Control Room

Yours faithfully,

Toby Benjamin

Yes but they have been drastically cut over the years including staff from the control room last year the remaining officers continue to carry out this role despite some dodgy management over the past Four years.

I am very concerned with the anti social behaviour that is taking place near my home at the moment. The Wirral Community Patrol have attended numerous times and I have been very impressed with their actions. I just hope the new Chief Executive of Wirral Council will be fully aware of this service and not look to outsource it to an outside company who lack the knowledge, skills, passion and integrity needed to do the job.

Dear Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council,

I withdraw this request as I have recieved the information that I requested

Yours faithfully,

Mark Seagraves

Mark I am guessing you are the person that used to drop tea, coffee and goodies down to the control room, I used to work in there before being made redundant along with ten colleagues last year. The patrol give a great service 24 hours a day which largely goes unnoticed by members of the public and certainly by councillors and some senior officers in the town hall who are asleep in bed when the patrols are dealing with break ins, highway problems, anti social behaviour and too many other incidents to list.
