Dress Regulations query
Dear Ministry of Defence,
The Army Secretariat has previously provided “ADR Part 12 Special Appointments.pdf”, within it states:
“12.024. Swords. Vice Lord-Lieutenants and Deputy Lieutenants, when wearing No 2 dress (Service dress), carry a sword appropriate to the arm of Service to which they formerly belonged; otherwise, and with Lieutenancy dress, the Infantry pattern sword should be worn, but Cavalry pattern may be worn by those in possession.”
1. Please clarify which sword pattern this should be for a Deputy Lieutenant in Scotland.

or

2. If a Deputy Lieutenant has a sword from Army Reserve Service (below Colonel rank) are they entitled to carry this or are they expected to carry “the Infantry pattern sword” as stated in the ADR.
Yours faithfully.
Dear Mr Smith,
Please see attached in response to your recent FOI request.
Regards,
Army Secretariat
