a The Environment Agency holds the records of the National Rivers Authority. When was the main channel of the River Yare between Norwich and Brundall last dredged by The National Rivers Authority for flood risk management purposes?

b The Environment Agency took over responsibility from The National Rivers Authority in 1996. When was the main channel of the River Yare between Norwich and Brundall last dredged by The Environment Agency for flood risk management purposes?

c If there has been a change of policy which has resulted in there being a policy of no dredging of the stretch of river between Norwich and Brundall please tell me on what basis that policy decision was taken and on what date it was taken.

Yours faithfully,

Robin Ford

The response (in part) was "we can confirm neither the National Rivers Authority or the Environment Agency have ever carried out dredging of the stretch of river for flood risk management purposes".
