robin ford made this Rhyddid Gwybodaeth request to Environment Agency

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Roedd y cais yn rhannol lwyddiannus.

Dear Environment Agency,

a The Environment Agency holds the records of the National Rivers Authority. When was the main channel of the River Wensum last dredged by The National Rivers Authority for flood risk management purposes?

b The Environment Agency took over responsibility from The National Rivers Authority in 1996. When was the main channel of the River Wensum last dredged by The Environment Agency for flood risk management purposes?

c If since the above there was a change of policy which resulted in there being a policy of no dredging of the River Wensum please tell me on what basis that policy
decision was taken and on what date it was taken.

Yours faithfully,

Robin Ford

Dear Corporate Services/Victoria Clemence,

Would you please read this article 30 May 2014 Norwich Evening News:

http://www.eveningnews24.co.uk/news/new_...

It includes a map, produced by The Environment Agency, I assume, that completely contradicts your reply.

Here's one quote :

“The river Wensum, upstream of Norwich, is the area with the most properties which are at risk of flooding in Norfolk."

Yours sincerely,

robin ford
