Dear Department for International Development,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Department for International Development's handling of my FOI request 'Documents relating to review of aid spending in the oPt'.

My request was refused on the basis of Section 12(4) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, on the basis that this request and a previous one (F2017-286, submitted 11 August) "relate to any extent to the same or similar information."

Though these requests were submitted to the same Department, they were not relating to the same information - The first was a request for details about specific meetings with a specific organisation (NGO Monitor) and the latest request was relating to documents relating to the recent review of aid spending in the oPt. The only relation between them was the area of work (oPt) which is surely not sufficient relation to consider them to be grouped requests.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/d...

Yours faithfully,

William James
