Dismissed from Civil Service
Dear Civil Service Commission,
I was dismissed from the Civil Service for gross misconduct reasons for which I still dispute to this day. Can you please inform me if I will be considered for a civil servant position ever again? It has been more than 2 years since my dismissal.
Yours faithfully,
S Ahmed

Dear S Ahmed
Thank you for contacting the Civil Service Commission.
Given the nature of the question asked, we do not believe that this is a
Freedom of Information request and therefore we are not responding to your
email as one.
The Commission's Recruitment Principles are clear that recruitment into
the civil service must be on merit on the basis of fair and open
competition. The requirement that competitions be open means that anyone
who wishes to apply must be allowed to.
Although you must be allowed to apply for any externally advertised job in
the civil service, previous dismissals from the civil service may be
picked up during vetting and pre-employment checks.
Issues relating to pre-employment checks and vetting are outside the scope
of the Commission's statutory regulatory remit.
It may be worth contacting any relevant departments to ask about this
before you apply.
Kind regards
Civil Service Commission
