Dear Cardiff University,

Could you please share the following information:

1 - Over your past 5 year cohort, how many disabled students enrolled on your MA in News Journalism ?

2 - Of that number, how many disabled students graduated with accreditation from either the NCTJ, the BTJC or the PPA?

3 - How many students, if any, had to withdraw from the programme over the past 5 years?

4 - Of that cohort, how many needed reasonable adjustments in order to complete their course?

Dear April,

I acknowledge receipt of your email dated 24th November 2020.

Your request will now be dealt with under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and has been allocated reference FOI20-432 which should be quoted in all correspondence. We will respond to your request within 20 working days starting the next working day after receipt, therefore you can expect to receive a response no later than 23/12/20. Please note: The University will be closed for the Christmas break from 17:00 on Friday 18th December 2020 until 09:00 Monday 4th January 2021 and we will not be responding to emails during this time.

Due to the current Coronavirus pandemic most staff are now working remotely, and it is likely that there will be a delay in responding to your request. Staff may not be able to assist as they may need to prioritise other work, cover for colleagues who are ill or be away from work themselves due to illness. However, we will do our best to meet this deadline and keep you informed should we be unable to do so.

In some circumstances a fee may be payable and, if that is the case, we will let you know. A fees notice will be issued to you, and you will be required to pay before we will proceed to deal with your request.

The MA in News Journalism is accredited by the NCTJ. We do not hold
details for 2015-2019. Results for academic year 2019-20 have not been
confirmed.

 

3 - How many students, if any, had to withdraw from the programme over the
past 5 years?

4 - Of that cohort, how many needed reasonable adjustments in order to
complete their course?

          3
