Dear Mr Johnson

I am sorry that you could not immediately find all the detail that you
needed in our first reply.

The attached and following have been drafted by my colleague, Yunus
Mogra and I hope that this will now answer all your enquiry.

Attached is our original Disability Equality Scheme 2006 -2009,
http://www.nwas.nhs.uk/Internet/Portals/...
isabilityequalityscheme2006v5finalversion.pdf which was developed with
involvement of disability groups in East Lancashire and Warrington
respectively see section 5 on the scheme. The partners at the Disability
Equality Scheme involvement event in East Lancashire were Age Concern,
Lancashire Care, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, Blackburn With
Darwen PCT to name a few. Pls see attached DES involvement event which
was held at Ewood Park 09 November 10 and attended by over 100 members
of the public from a variety of bodies inclusive of disability groups.
This paper is also available at:
http://www.nwas.nhs.uk/Internet/LinkClic...
&tabid=189&mid=686. Also attached is feedback that was received at the
Warrington Disability Partnership involvement event in January 2007
where a number of disability groups which are affiliated to the
partnership provided feedback to NWAS this information is also available
at:
http://www.nwas.nhs.uk/Internet/LinkClic...
3d&tabid=189&mid=686

The NWAS Disability Equality Schemes have now been replaced by the Trust
Single Equality Scheme 2008 -2011, which is also attached. Consultation
on the draft scheme involved NWAS reps meting face to face with many E&D
organisations across the North West including the Manchester Disabled
Peoples Access Group, Deafness Support Cheshire, Pukar Disability
Preston, Older Peoples Forum etc as well as email consultation with over
400 community bodies and organisations. All feedback has been taken into
account in the final production of the Scheme, which is attached and
also available at:
http://www.nwas.nhs.uk/internet/AboutUs/...
Scheme/tabid/232/Default.aspx

The Trust continues to involve partners wherever possible in the
continuous development of NWAS' Single Equality Scheme including the
Manchester Disabled Peoples Access Group, Deafness Support Cheshire and
Pukar Disability Preston
