Disability and Doctoral Students

We're waiting for Tina Graham to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear Bournemouth University,

Since 2006 how many doctoral students per year have declared a disability? Number of students and expression as a percentage.

How many reasonable adjustments has the university put in place each year for the PhD/doctoral student population, since 2006?

What are the total costs each year since 2006 for PhD/Doctoral students reasonable adjustments?

How many doctoral students, have taken more than 10 plus years to complete their studies in the last 15 years.

What has the University spent each year, since 2006, for reasonable adjustments for the whole student population?

Thank you.

Dear Freedom Of Information,

You have failed to answer the questions outlined in this FOI. That is entirely separate to my SAR for my own email information.

Your response was due by 18th January. Kindly comply with the questions I have asked you regarding disability and doctoral students.

Thank you.

Yours sincerely,

Tina Graham

Dear Freedom Of Information,

I have no been able to access your response, which is not straight forward as the link is not working.

This response is not clear;

1. Since 2006 how many doctoral students per year have declared a disability? Number of students and expression as a percentage.

Response:

Academic YearStudents%
2015/16559.29%
2014/15459.39%
2013/144610.45%
2012/133810.86%
2011/12289.56%
2010/112610.32%
2009/10198.72%
2008/09167.80%
2007/08127.19%
2006/07117.01%
Can you please clarify where the gap is ....I requested the number of students and expression as a percentage and for example 2006/07 is this 1 student and 17.01 % or 117.01 % ?

Also I request a review as these are reasonable stats to request and I do not see that there would/should be covered under as section 12 exemption.

Thank you

Yours sincerely,

Tina Graham

Dear Freedom Of Information,

This part of my request has not been answered.

How many doctoral students, have taken more than 10 plus years to complete their studies in the last 15 years.

In addition to the above, can you distinguish between the PhD students who are staff and external candidates.

Yours sincerely,

Tina Graham

Dear Mrs Graham

Thank you for your email as below.

Please find enclosed our response sent on 16 January which states at question 3:

"2 Doctoral students have taken more than 10 years to complete, in the last 15 years."

In relation to your further question please can you confirm if you would like this restricted to PhD students who have declared a disability within the Faculty or the total number of PhD students within the Faculty?

Once we have received your response we can process this part of your request.

Kind regards
