Freedom of Information Requests, York and Scarborough Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Dear Amanda,

We write further to your email of 12th May made under the terms of the
Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Please accept our sincere apologies for the delayed response. This is not
indicative of the service we provide and we are sorry if our delay has
caused you any inconvenience.

York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust's response
against each element of your request is shown below.

Do you use any applications or tools to communicate with your patients
digitally?

Yes.

I am interested in all aspects of patient communication, but particularly:

- Pre- and post-operative communication

- eConsent

- Outpatients

- Emergency Care

- Patient engagement at home

- Patient satisfaction

We use “Attend Anywhere” for video consultations and  “Patient Knows Best”
(PKB) is the patient portal we use.

In terms of Patient Engagement at home, if patients have indicated that
they are set up for, and would like to provide feedback via the Friends
and Family Test (FFT), they are sent an SMS around 48 hours after
discharge. We also have been engaging patients through remote appointments
using WebEx etc.

Please advise of the individual(s) (name and/or job title) with
responsibility for developing digital communications with patients.

Please note that it is not within Trust policy to share the names of our
staff members below director level but all departments can be reached by
telephoning the Trust’s main switchboard on 01904 631 313.

Also, do you have performance targets for monitoring patient satisfaction?

No, patient satisfaction isn’t measured or collected as an exact data
point as such, but patients are given the opportunity to provide feedback
through the Friends and Family Test and our PALS and Complaints service.

Currently we don’t collect patient satisfaction against targets.

If so, please advise of the individual(s) (name and/or job title) with
responsibility for monitoring or reporting on these targets.

We hope that this meets the terms of your request and that the information
supplied will be of use to you.
