Dear North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust,

I have recently seen evidence of Ambulances attending, "Blue Light," emergencies in the Levenshulme Area, being unable to pass recently installed roadblocks and requiring reversing to find alternative routes.

Please can you provide any information you have about any consultation you have had with Manchester City Council, GMCA, TfGM or Sustrans in relation to the Levenshulme and Burnage Active Neighbourhood Project.

Specifically:
a) please can you confirm that NWAS are aware of the Roadblocks in place around the Levenshulme area and that you were consulted prior to their installation on January 4th 2021
b) dates of any contact made by MCC in respect of the plans
c) any concerns you raised in respect of the plans
d) any changes which were made to the plans as a result of your feedback.

Yours faithfully,

Adrian Broderick

Hi Adrian,

Following your freedom of Information request regarding the Levenshulme and Burnage Active Neighbourhood Project, please see the information below and attached.

a) please can you confirm that NWAS are aware of the Roadblocks in place around the Levenshulme area and that you were consulted prior to their installation on January 4th 2021.
Yes we are aware and we were informed of the project via email (please see attached). These emails were then sent to our the local teams.

b) dates of any contact made by MCC in respect of the plans
18/05/2020 and 16/11/2020

c) any concerns you raised in respect of the plans
We raised no concerns.

d) any changes which were made to the plans as a result of your feedback.
We did not provide feedback.

I have also spoken to our local operational teams to see if staff have raised any issues since the installation, which they haven't. Operational teams are used to accommodating changed road layouts, new estates, roadworks etc and there are procedures in place for road staff to report any concerns to managers and for the manager to then pass these concerns to local councils.

I hope this information is of assistance.

Kind regards,

Jess
