Dear Her Majesty's Inspector of Fire and Rescue Services for Scotland,
I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 with the following request:
Please could tell me how many incidents at commercial properties you have been called to since January 1st 2019 to the present day where the property was deemed unsafe to immediately re-enter following the incident.
In addition, if the cost of doing so would not exceed the limitations set out in Section 12 of the Act, please provide the cause of the incident and the reason for blocking re-entry to the property (i.e. Cause: Fire - Reason: building structurally weakened)
Dear Mr Rawles,
Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002
Thank you for your information request by email of 21 November 2019 to HM Fire Service Inspectorate in which you asked for information about incidents at commercial properties that the Inspectorate had been called to.
The answer to your request is that HM Fire Service Inspectorate (HMFSI) is not an emergency response organisation and we have not been called to any commercial properties.
HMFSI’s principal function is the inspection of the efficiency and effectiveness of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. Information about us is available on our website at www.gov.scot/fireinspectorate.
It may be that you are seeking information relevant to the Fire and Rescue Service. If so you may wish to send an information request to the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. I have included a link to the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service website where you will find information on access to information.
