Information Rights, Forestry Commission

Dear Mr Mattingly,

Thank you for your request for information which you sent to us on 25
March 2020. I am happy to acknowledge receipt of your request.

The Freedom of Information Act allows a period of 20 working days for us
to respond (from the working day following receipt of the request) but
under certain circumstances, where a request is complex, the period to
respond can be extended to 40 working days.  Nevertheless, in all cases we
endeavour to reply in full as soon as possible.  Until I have consulted
fully with colleagues who may hold the information you are seeking I am
unable to assess whether or not your request will be considered complex,
but if it is considered complex we will let you know as soon as possible
and within 20 working days.

You should note that this acknowledgement of your request does not mean
that we hold the information you have requested or that we will disclose
all or any of the information we do hold.  This is because a number of
exemptions to disclose are available within the Act and may be applied.
If these are applied we will explain how they have been applied when we
send our full response.

Dear Mr Mattingly,

Thank you for your request for information which you sent to us on 25
March 2020 and we acknowledged on 26 March 2020.

Please find attached the information I judge to be in scope of your
request. Please note I have redacted personal information from this
document as supplying this would be in breach of General Data Protection
Regulations, and so Section 13 applies, that a public authority should not
disclose personal data so long as the requestor is not the data subject
and that disclosure of the information to a member of the public would
contravene data protection principles.

I have tried to deal with your request as fully as possible. If you have
any questions then I would be happy to try and answer these for you.
However, should you wish to complain about the way your request has been
handled please contact:

Complaints regarding non-compliance with the requirements of the open
information legislation should initially be made to the Forestry
Commission itself. We aim to resolve any complaints with you directly.
However, should the matter fail to be resolved, you may make an appeal to
the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Further information of the role of the Information Commissioner and
guidance on FOI/EIR can be found on the Commissioner’s web site:
