Dentists / Periodontal Disease / Extractions / GDC

We're waiting for C Shah to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear General Dental Council,

Please can you let me know whether you have ever investigated a dentist who:
(i) failed to either diagnose or treat periodontal disease in a patient; and
(ii) extracted the patient's teeth which could otherwise have been saved if the periodontal disease had been treated.

In respect of such dentists, please can you let me know:
1. The number of such investigations that have been carried out (broken down per year)
2. The outcome of such investigations.

Yours faithfully,

C Shah
