Please confirm whether you still intend to build replacement flats as indicated in your published graphic plans (linked to me in a previous response on this subject, on this site, by HC).

You previously told me that CP demolition work would begin last December 19th., spanning 12 weeks. Is that still your expectation.

Request for Information under Environmental Information (Scotland)
Regulations 2004

 

We refer to your request for information on 04 March 2020.  You requested
information on the demolition Cruachan Place flats, Portree.

 

Following your current answer to my previous request with this title -
your published plans clearly show the replacement flats situated where the
embankment now is, fully occupying  the physical space where the
embankment now sits.  Please confirm whether you still intend to build
replacement flats as indicated in your published graphic plans (linked to
me in a previous response on this subject, on this site, by HC).  You
previously told me that CP demolition work would begin last December
19th., spanning 12 weeks.  Is that still your expectation.

 

The information you have requested falls within the definition of
Environmental Information as defined by Regulation 2 of the Environmental
Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004 (EIRs) and is exempt under Section
39(2) of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA). The
Council is, therefore, required to respond to you under the terms of the
EIRs rather than FOISA.

 

The programme manager has confirmed the tender evaluation took place for
DIHD18050 - Housing units Cruachan Place on Thursday 5th March. The client
and project team are now in the process of completing a cost cutting
exercise which may have an effect in how earthworks are completed. This
cost cutting exercise will also have an effect on the programme of works.
The construction works including the demolition will be reprogrammed once
the project team have approval to progress.

 

Under Regulation 16 of the Environmental Information (Scotland)
Regulations 2004 (EIRs), you have the right to request that the Highland
Council reviews any aspect of how it has dealt with your request. This
requirement for review should be put in writing to the Freedom of
Information Officer, Chief Executive’s Office, Glenurquhart Road,
Inverness IV3 5NX, within 40 working days of receipt of this letter. The
request should include details of the information requested and the
aspects of the Highland Council’s response which you are not satisfied
with.

 

If you are subsequently dissatisfied with the outcome of the Council's
review, you have the right to appeal to the Scottish Information
Commissioner under Regulation 17 of the EIRS, within six months of
receiving the Council's review response.
