Dear Natalia Lysiuk,

Re: Freedom of Information Request.

I refer to your correspondence to the council and your request for the
following:

I am looking for information as to the authorities prediction of the
number of required placements over next 12 months, for adults with LD, and
ASD in the following service types: * Supported Living * Residential Care

As a service we respond to individual requests for a change of
accommodation as they arise.

We are also, throughout any year, planning for future accommodation
projects to meet identified need from individuals and identified groups.
This is obviously a changing figure each year. So for example we are
already committed to the development of an additional 40 + supported
living and residential beds in the city over the next 18 months. We do
know that on average 60 young people with a Learning Disability or Autism
transition into adult services each year, of course not all these people
are seeking accommodation.

What we are in the process of developing is a Working Age Adults
Accommodation strategy. This will be a 10 year strategy which will
identify the accommodation we currently have for working age adults across
the city. We will then undertake a consultation process with key
stakeholders to get the views on the current accommodation and what the
aspirations are for future accommodation over the next 10 years.

The strategy, once completed later in the year, will be published on the
council web site.

We are also intending to develop a number of provider frameworks and when
we are looking to develop a specific accommodation service to meet
identified need, this will be published on Yor Tender.

The regional e-tender portal YORtender can be found using the following
link: [1]https://www.yortender.co.uk which is used by 23 authorities
across the Yorkshire & Humber region. Suppliers can see the latest
opportunities on the portal and can register for free to receive automatic
notification when authorities publish opportunities for their area of
expertise. Once registered suppliers can use the portal to access tender
documents and take part in tenders.

I trust that this response is satisfactory. If however you are
dissatisfied with this response you have a right to appeal to an
independent officer within the council. They will re-examine your request
and assess whether we have adhered to the requirements of the act. Should
you wish to follow this course of action please address your concerns in
writing to the above address.

You also have a right under Section 50 of the Freedom of Information Act
to ask the Information Commissioner to decide whether we have met with our
obligations under the act.  The Commissioner has however made it clear
that she expects all applicants to exhaust internal appeals procedures
prior to making such an application. Should you wish to contact the
Commissioner’s office then you can contact the Commissioner via her
website at [2]www.ico.org.uk

I trust that this is self-explanatory.  If you have any queries please
contact me on 0113 3784251, or by return email.

If you have any queries or wish to discuss this matter then please contact
me on 0113 3784251 or by email to [email address].
